We often believe that giving people a shared goal and telling them they are a team is enough to make them one. It’s not. A team is a group of people who trust each other. Who share a common vision, and agree on a set of principles to help them get there. This doesn’t happen by accident.
Team coaching unlocks the potential of your team members by focusing on what the team needs as an entity in its own right. How the team communicate, resolve conflict, hold its members accountable? What needs to happen for everyone on the team to feel heard, recognised, valued? How does the team serve its external stakeholders, and interact with other internal teams?

How team coaching can help your team
It’s easy enough to identify what is falling short in our teams. It’s far less easy to know exactly what to do about it. It can be tempting to drop in an away day of paintballing and a nice dinner and hope the problem goes away. More often than not, the issues remain.
Team coaching helps teams align around a common purpose and get clear about their contribution. It supports teams to develop a common language, manage conflict and build greater trust and collaboration.
Team coaching can tackle the issues that have been kicking around in your team for months, or even years, in just a few hours.
We achieve this through guided and supported dialogue, reflections, observations and awareness-building exercises in order to address the unsaid, unseen and undesirable forces that hamper your team’s success, and strengthen the connections, values and shared goals that support it.
How it works
Team coaching is the process of looking inwards as a team with honesty, purpose and support, to create lasting change that maximises collective potential, purpose and performance goals.
Every team is unique so the content of a team coaching engagement will be bespoke. However, they all share a structure and start in the same place.

The first step is a series of informal but wide-ranging discussions with team leaders and 121s with team members. We may also decide on a diagnostic questionnaire to the team, direct reports and stakeholders.

We’ll work with the team to co-create a fully bespoke programme designed to address the specific needs and objectives of your team.

Across the next 6-12 months, we'll work together across a number of interventions. These are likely to include some or all of the following:
A series of half or full day Team Coaching sessions
121 executive coaching for some/all of the team
Specifically identified training, facilitation or team building activity
Shadowing and observations during team meetings
